Today at So Catchy! Where Fashion Begins we wanted to share with you the marvelous creations of Nguyen Cong Tri, a Vietnamese designer who harmonizes high fashion and tradition. His latest work, ‘Collection Nº10’, is an ode to detail, proof that baroque can be elegant and that a blend of creativity, attention to detail and mastery of technique will result in inimitable results.

Nguyen graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Arts in Ho Chi Minh, first rising to the world stage in the year 2000 after winning first prize in the New Idea category of Vietnam’s Grand Prix with his collection ‘Green Leaves’. After setting off on his own and creating a number of different labels, in 2013 he became the first Vietnamese designer to launch a label dedicated to Haute Couture.

Alternating traditional techniques from his homeland and the latest trends, paired with an incredible sense of esthetics have made Nguyen Cong Tri a point of reference in the fashion world, influencing not only emerging designers from Vietnam but also more prominent ones on the international stage.

Here’s a gallery that we’ve prepared from his 2017 A/W ‘Collection Nº10’, a true pleasure for the senses from Asian Fashion Meets TOKYO. We hope you enjoy as much as we have.
